Getting started
Import existing hosts
Bring your existing connections into Termbit instead of re-creating them by hand.
Where you can import from
- ~/.ssh: your OpenSSH config and the keys next to it
- CSV: a spreadsheet based on Termbit’s template
- PuTTY, MobaXterm and SecureCRT: sessions exported from these apps
Import step by step
- Choose File → Import….
- Pick the source at the top of the window.
- Drop the file or folder into the window, or click Choose…. For ~/.ssh, the picker opens right in your ~/.ssh folder. Termbit reads nothing until you choose.
- Click Continue and review what was found. Uncheck anything you don’t need.
- If some hosts already exist in Termbit, decide what to do with each duplicate.
- Click Import.
For PuTTY, MobaXterm and SecureCRT, the import window shows a short note on how to export your sessions from that app.
Importing from CSV
Select CSV and click Download Template. Fill it in with any spreadsheet app, save it as CSV and import it. The template covers hosts and passwords; SSH keys are imported separately, for example from ~/.ssh or in Keys & Identities.
What isn’t imported
- Tags and favorites.
- Identities: imported hosts keep their own usernames and credentials.
- Password-protected exports from other apps.
If a username or password is missing, you can add it later with Edit Hosts, or Termbit will ask when you connect.
